A different way to look at my travels....
Medellin, Colombia was my homebase for 5 years
Public transportation is one reason I moved there. The Medellin rapid transit system consists of above ground rail, suspended cable cars,
and an extensive public and private bus system. One low cost ticket means you can ride the whole system - including the aerial tram / cable cars.
The system is immacuately maintained, super clean and efficient.

Even though it is near the equator, Medellin enjoys a spring-like climate year round due to its altitude of ~1500 m / 5000 ft
It's nicknamed the City of Eternal Spring.
One distinguishing feature of Medellin's public transit system is the Metrocable.
